Regeneron Science Talent Search

The Regeneron Science Talent Award is the most prestigious science competition in the United States, providing high school students the opportunity to communicate their original research with a national jury of professional scientists. Most alumni have made extraordinary contributions to science and have received a large number of the world's most distinguished science and mathematics honors, including 12 Nobel Prizes, 11 National Medals of Science and medals in two fields.
Each year, approximately 1,800 high school seniors enter the Regeneron STS. Three hundred Regeneron STS scholars are selected and they and their schools are awarded $2,000 each, totaling approximately $1.2 million in awards. From that pool of scholars, 40 finalists receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC, where they compete in a rigorous judging process for an additional $1.8 million in awards, with a top prize of $250,000.

It is the oldest science competition for high school students in the United States, with a history of 76 years.

The Scientific Genius Award is known as the "Young Nobel Prize"

Many famous scientists have received this award, including Rod Hoffman, David Mumford, Sheldon Glashow, and others

50-57% of the finalists eventually entered the five "Hayeps Ma" schools, and 70-76% entered the top 15 schools in the United States
